I am a registered midwife with a clinical academic role as Associate Professor of Midwifery (University of Nottingham, School of Health Sciences) and a Lead Clinical Academic for nurses,Ā midwivesĀ and allied health professionals (Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust). I completed the NIHRĀ Masters in ResearchĀ Methods in 2010, a Wellbeing of Women and RCM Early Career award in 2014 and Doctoral Fellowship award in 2017. Since my PhD, I completed a HEE / NIHR Gold postdoctoral award and in 2020, I was the first midwife to be awarded the HEE / NIHR Clinical Lectureship award (now the NIHR advanced fellowship award). I currently holdĀ a NIHRĀ Senior Clinical Practitioner Researcher award. I haveĀ expertiseĀ in psychometric,Ā qualitativeĀ and quantitative systematic reviews, realist methods, complex intervention development and feasibilityĀ testingĀ and qualitative primary research. My research interest is focused on perinatal mental health, and I contribute to local and national clinical guidance and research funding reviews. I am the Director of Clinical Academic Careers in the School of Health Sciences and actively promote and support clinical academic careers for nurses,Ā midwivesĀ and allied health professionals.Ā
