Supporting students

From the moment you start considering midwifery as a career, the RCM is here to support you. We can provide advice to help you make the best application to university, and, when you get there, we can help you get the best out of your studies. We also advocate on your behalf, from the quality of education to calling on politicians to forgive student debt.Ā

If youā€™re considering studying midwifery at university, why not become an affiliate member of the RCM? Youā€™ll get access to our online learning platform and all our policy content, resources, webinars, student events and much more, helping you get ahead of the game.

And if youā€™re already at university and you havenā€™t done already, join us! Thereā€™s no other organisation that can offer you the range of services and support that the RCM can. You can join the RCM as a student member at any time ā€“ even before you start your programme, you can join as an affiliate member.

MIDIRS

MIDIRS is part of the RCM family, there to support midwifery education and training. MIDIRS Midwifery Digest is a quarterly journal of evidence based original articles and reprints, clinical reflections and practice improvements. Your MIDIRS subscription also gives you access to the world’s largest midwifery specific database, the Maternity and Infant Care (MIC) database, which collates information and resources relating to midwifery. Whether it appears in an academic journal, in a government report, on a website or elsewhere, we catalogue it and create a record on our database. We currently have over 300,000 of these records, making our database the largest of its kind in the world. In addition, you can access subject-specific research packs, the quarterly publication of the MIDIRS Midwifery Digest and our Latest Research Update. And RCM members get a 20% discount too.
