The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) has celebrated the passion and impact of its members at this year’s Branch Activist Awards, recognising the incredible work happening across branches to strengthen the voice of midwives and maternity support workers.
Now in its second year, the awards were opened up to nominations from across the RCM, shining a spotlight on the breadth of activism taking place in workplaces and branches across the UK.
The awards were presented at the RCM’s Activists Conference on Thursday (23 April), which was held in Birmingham.
Six awards were presented, covering key areas of activism including communications, equality and inclusion, workplace safety, learning, events and campaigning.
Lynn Collins, RCM Director for Representation and Organising, said: “Our Branch Activist Awards highlights the inspiring range of activism on display and encourages branches and activists to share their achievements.
“Our winners and nominees show the very best of our union in action. The passion, determination and creativity of our members is what drives real change and we can’t wait to see even more in 2027.”
