Situation in Israel-Gaza

Like the rest of the world, the RCM is deeply saddened by the escalating situation in Israel and Gaza. Midwives and other healthcare workers continue to work tirelessly to support women and children, who yet again have become the victims of a situation not of their making. We continue to support the work of the International Confederation of Midwives, which works directly with our sister organisations in Palestine and Israel, in order to provide appropriate assistance to midwives continuing to deliver care there.

The situation for civilians in Gaza is increasingly grave and we call on those with influence in the region to allow increased access for humanitarian supplies. We also join the calls of the TUC and other unions and healthcare organisations for those with influence to redouble the efforts to find a just and sustainable peace for all those living in the region.
