New statement: Working together for safer maternity care

We have posted this statement on social media in response to comments made on LBC over the weekend.

“Women and families deserve safe maternity services provided by midwives, obstetricians and the wider maternity and neonatal team.

“RCM members work alongside our medical colleagues to deliver safe, personalised, equitable and evidence-based care. This can only be effective when professionals collaborate with respect and trust.

“Two major maternity reports are due in the coming weeks – a critical moment that must lead to real investment in the services that women, families and midwives deserve.”
