The RCM Conference 2027 is an inspiring event bringing together midwives, maternity support workers, educators, researchers, students and leaders, from across the UK to celebrate the impact of our profession and explore the future of maternity care.
The conference will showcase how midwifery professionals are leading innovation, championing compassionate care, and shaping services that meet the diverse needs of women, babies, and families. Through keynote presentations, expert-led sessions, and shared learning, delegates will explore the latest developments in clinical practice, leadership, education, research, workforce well being, equality and inclusion, and women’s health.
The programme will highlight examples of excellence from across maternity services, demonstrating how midwives are driving improvements in safety, promoting equity, supporting trauma-informed care, and fostering positive workplace cultures. Delegates will also have opportunities to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing the profession.

We welcome abstract submissions from midwives, maternity support workers, student midwives, researchers, educators, and maternity professionals who are passionate about sharing innovation, best practice, and new ways of working across clinical, academic, research, leadership, and education settings.
Whether you have led a research project, implemented a service improvement initiative, developed an innovative educational approach, or introduced a new model of care, we would love to hear about your work.

Abstract requirements
Abstracts should be submitted in English and must not exceed 500 words. Your preferred presentation format should be clearly indicated at the point of submission.
What to include in your abstract

All abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of RCM Fellows. Submissions will be assessed against criteria including:
