Join the Midwives-in-Training Research and Journal Review Club for a session exploring the relationship between workplace culture and arts.

In this installment of MITRJRC we are joined by Fallon Green, a midwife, educator and university lecturer with a passion for exploring workplace culture and creating psychologically safe environments. Drawing on over a decade of experience using Forum Theatre within maternity education, Fallon will discuss her MSc dissertation, The Art of Compassion, which explored the use of this innovative and participatory approach to promote compassion, civility and psychological safety within maternity teams.

In the session, Fallon will share her research journey, from developing the initial idea and exploring the existing evidence, through to designing and delivering the project, analysing the findings, and reflecting on the challenges and learning that came with undertaking practice-based research.

Together, we will consider what the findings tell us about compassion, civility and workplace culture in maternity care, while exploring how student midwives can become curious about practice, engage with research and contribute to positive change within the profession.
