Overview

Join the Midwives-in-Training Research and Journal Review Club for a session designed to boost student confidence with perineal repair. In this instalment of MITRJRC we are joined by Fiona Cross-Sudworth, an experienced midwife and research fellow based at the University of Warwick. Fiona is part of the research team for the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit-funded project FutureSuture, who have recently launched an e-learning module to support students and newly qualified midwives’ confidence in perineal trauma management and care.

This session will explore the study’s aims, objectives and methods, and the process for production and evaluation of the FutureSuture module.

Following attendance of this session, you will have the opportunity to access the module to increase your own confidence and competence in perineal care, and be part of the research evaluation, to inform future midwifery education. The session, which is hosted by Michelle McKay, will involve a presentation, discussion with fellow students, and a Q&A session with Fiona.
