Course Overview
The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) have worked collaboratively to try to address the problem of undermining and bullying behaviours in maternity services. This module is part of a suite of resources available for midwives, doctors, student midwives and maternity support staff to challenge poor behaviour and to improve the working environment.
After working through this short module you will
- Be able to recognise and describe undermining behaviours
- Understand everyone’s role and responsibility in changing cultures and behaviours
- Know where to seek further help and support
- Be aware of additional resources to support practitioners
- Appreciate the impact and outcomes of poor behaviours on:
- the working environment
- service provision locally and nationally
- women and families
- maternity staff
