This course on Relationship support: an early intervention draws upon evidence from national and international sources to provide a practical framework and tools to help you support those parents experiencing relationship difficulties. The course has been written by Jan Mitcheson of OnePlusOne, a UK-based charity that analyses relationship research, and uses the evidence to create relationship-building resources for parents, couples and people working with families.

In completing this module, you will be able to

  • understand the impact of pregnancy, birth and the early weeks on parental relationships
  • understand the impact of relationship breakdown on health outcomes for parents and children
  • explore how the use of a brief intervention approach Brief Encounters® can help you to provide support for parent relationships
