The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) has taken the concerns of its members to the heart of Government, during a visit to 10 Downing Street this week.

The RCM’s Chief Membership Officer Robbie Turner, Director for Employment Relations Emma Jenkinson and Public Affairs Advisor Mike Indian met with officials to discuss the crucial challenges and opportunities facing midwives and maternity support workers across the UK.

During the meeting the RCM discussed the vital contribution that midwives and MSWs make and the importance of ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the future of maternity care.

Commenting on the visit, Robbie Turner, said: “It was an honour and a privilege to visit 10 Downing Street and to represent the phenomenal work of midwives and maternity support workers.

“Our members are dedicated to providing safe, compassionate care to women and families and the RCM will continue to engage closely with the Government to ensure our members’ voices are heard where it matters most.”
