I am a registered midwife with extensive clinical experience across a wide range of maternity settings, alongside substantial experience in midwifery education within higher education. I continue to practise clinically, maintaining a strong commitment to high-quality, woman-centred care and ensuring my educational and leadership work remains grounded in contemporary practice.
I currently lead the Once for Wales Preceptorship Framework, providing strategic direction for the support and development of newly qualified midwives across Wales. In addition, I lead a Royal College of Midwives / Welsh Government leadership programme, focused on developing compassionate, confident and clinically credible maternity leaders for the future workforce.
I hold a Masterās degree in advanced practice and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), reflecting my sustained contribution to education, leadership, and academic practice. My work is driven by a strong commitment to workforce development, professional advocacy, and the continuous improvement of maternity services through education, leadership and system-wide collaboration.
