The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) has today warned against any further delay in addressing the challenges faced by maternity services in Scotland. The call comes as the Cabinet Secretary for Health & Social Care, Neil Gray, announced the establishment of a new Scottish Maternity & Neonatal Taskforce, following the publication of the Health Improvement Scotland (HIS) report of its inspection of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Tuesday’s BBC Disclosure programme.

The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) in Northern Ireland has announced it will consult with its members on possible industrial action, following the continued failure to deliver pay parity for midwives and maternity support workers (MSWs).
