Overview

RSV maternal vaccine uptake in England has proven stubbornly low at around 53%; a boost in rates now could have a big impact on the RSV season this winter (i.e. mothers vaccinated over the summer will give birth to babies who will be most susceptible to serious disease in October/November/December); in a recent survey it was found that mothers often referred to midwives as a trusted source of advice on vaccination.
