Research can be huge in scope, just like our Maternity and Infant Care (MIC) database, currently consisting of over 300,000 records. To make it easier for you to get straight to the content you need, all our articles are sorted by MIDIRS librarians together into groups – giving you quick and easy access to everything we have on a certain topic. These are completely free for subscribers but can be purchased by non-subscribers.

From preconception through birth, the first 1000 days and beyond – we have Search Packs on everything! Contact us for further assistance if you can’t find the topic you are looking for.

We have created a series of informational resources to help you make the most out of our database.

Subscribed and unsure how to access this benefit? Click here for more information.

Our host of COVID-19 related search packs are free for everyone to download.

Student Support

Starting your course can be daunting, but MIDIRS and the RCM have you covered. Whatever your course, year of study, or your mode of study, we’re here to support you.

These interactive i-learn resources will help prepare you for midwifery student life, the university work involved and your clinical placements.

The RCMs Student Midwife Forum (SMF) plays a significant role in our work supporting and advocating for you. Find out more here.

We are offering all students this resource for free. Search Pack M89 includes a selection of key references relating to midwifery research, theory and practice. Subscribers can access full-text MIDIRS Midwifery Digest articles from this pack via the MIC database.

The MITRJRC is designed to offer a thorough approach to fostering research skills and professional development among midwives in training. This club integrates diverse topics, practical applications, and recognises member achievements while emphasising the importance of embedding research at all levels of midwifery practice.
