Vaccinations in Pregnancy

13 January 2025

Vaccination programmes in pregnancy are now a very common and very important aspect of public health within the UK, with the flu vaccine offered routinely from 2010 and the pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine offered routinely from 2019. During this webinar, we’ll be looking at the impact of vaccination programs in the UK, as well as the factors that impact whether people choose to accept them or not.

Analysis Points

– Socio-economic status is mentioned as a factor for vaccine uptake, with the most deprived areas receiving the least vaccines – why do you think this is? – Does this study show where the people included are from in terms of deprivation? Does it need to? – This paper also highlights the role of healthcare professionals as sources of impact in women’s decision making – do you think that this is the same for most aspects of healthcare?
