We are offering the following exciting opportunity to join Team RCM:

Role: Assistant National Officer, Wales

Contract:         Part time (28 hours per week); fixed term or secondment until December 2024

Location:        RCM Wales office in Cardiff or home based in Wales with an expectation of travel across the region.

Salary:         Your part time salary will be £35,603 per year if fixed term (full time equivalent is £44,504 per year).

Matching your existing salary up to £36,508 per year for part time in the case of a secondment (full time equivalent is £45,635 per year).

The RCM has the vision to be the expert voice of Midwifery locally, nationally, and internationally. The Assistant National Officer, Wales will be a key member of the RCM Wales team enabling us to fulfil our vision. Working across team Wales, you will:

  • Be responsible for organising and supporting recruitment and member engagement activities required for Wales and the Channel Islands.
  • Assist and support both the Director and National Officer for RCM Wales to ensure a visible and effective RCM voice at stakeholder and policy meetings.
  • Assist the National Officer, Wales with case management, and provide advice and support where appropriate. 

You will be required to live within a reasonable travel distance across Wales. You will be expected to travel regularly across the Wales geographical area. Virtual working will also be required.

You will help us to be the best we can be by: 

  • Using your experience as an RCM Workplace Representative to support casework.
  • Using your experience of organising and engagement to recruit members and workplace representatives.
  • Using your knowledge and understanding as a registered and practicing midwife to ensure the RCM’s national policy, priorities, campaigns and initiatives are rooted in the lived experience of our members.
